Venison Chilli

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs venison mince

  • 2 large onions (chopped)

  • 2-4 cloves garlic (minced)

  • 2 stalks celery (chopped)

  • 1 can chopped tomatoes

  • 1 can red kidney beans

  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin

  • 1 or 2 tablespoons chilli (depends on preference)

  • 1 teaspoons oregano

  • 1/4 teaspoons cayenne pepper

  • 2 tablespoons tomato puree

  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoons brown sugar

  • 3-4 cloves

  • 1 teaspoons white vinegar

  • 2-4 beef stock cubes

For serving:

  • 1 medium green pepper (chopped) - optional

  • Fresh coriander

  • Soured cream 

Instructions:

  1. In a large sauce pan cook the onion, garlic, celery and mince until the veg are tender and meat browned.

  2. Add chilli, oregano, cayenne and cumin cook for a minute.

  3. Add tomato's, kidney beans, cocoa powder, sugar, cloves, vinegar and stock cubes. 

  4. Stir to combine and cook over a medium  heat for 1 -2 hours.

  5. Finally add green pepper, coriander and soured cream just before serving
